FAQ: I work as a Search Engine Optimizer and have proven myself in that field. I want to evolve into SEM. Is it easy or tough compared to SEO? Can you suggest some ways to learn SEM?
Answer: SEO is a subsidiary subset, yet very important element of SEM (search engine marketing). SEO in its pure form means adjusting your offpage and onpage factors, along with best practices, to achieve higher organic search engine rankings than the competition.
SEM adds other forms of search engine advertising like PPC, ad networks, directories and other forms of paid placement. Those can be learned easy enough. It’s much like placing classified ads in a newspaper, or display ads in the yellow pages, except the internet allows you to track and improve the ad on the fly.
The harder part to learn about SEM is the sales and marketing. Converting the traffic through the science of persuasion, so they take your desired course of action…

Here are a few notes I made while listening to Dr Dan Ariely’s Predictably Irrational Audiobook. It’s just a fraction of what I learned in the eight hours of audio. A couple of years back, a large private membership tried to recruit me as part of their faculty. I remember the guy – who would be my “boss” – saying to me, “I don’t think you’ve got anything of value to offer to a 5 million dollar a year company. That’s why we want you to look after the beginners.” I laughed to myself because…

FAQ: I’d like the description of my site to be more compelling than what it is now. How do I get Google to change what they have for my site? It’s not the description that I have in my meta tags, so I really have no idea where they’re getting it from.
Answer: It all depends on how they “flip the switch” on the algo. Sometimes they scrape and kludge from the words on your page, but most of the time they’ll actually use your description meta tags.
But in your case, they snagged that banal description from DMOZ the (Open Directory Project ODP) directory since you’re listed in there. You can prevent it by using this meta tag in the head section of your home page.

Categories and Tags are used to organize the content on your blog.
Tags are like keywords that are used to describe each post. Although you can have unlimited tags, try to keep the number of tags to six or less for each post.
Think of categories like a filing system. You divide the content into logical folders and then into optional sub-folders within each folder.
To figure out your categories, it’s best to “go analog” and not use a computer. Write each category on its own sticky note. This will make them super easy to move around.
Now head for a blank wall in your office. Leave them up where you can see them. Think about how you want to organize your content for at least a week before committing to the computer and starting your blog.
Here are the categories and tags that I settled on for my Internet Marketing Secrets Blog. Go ahead and set up your own marketing blog using this as a model.

Introduction
Thank you for your vote of confidence in me by becoming a member of the Dynamic Media Vault. You are now part of a very exclusive community.
Be sure to check back often as there will always be new ideas, tested marketing strategies, ebooks, whitepapers, FAQs and articles being added to the Vault.
You have unlimited access. Go ahead and download anything you want. You can also ask questions, make comments on the posts and participate in the discussions.
Consultations & Coaching
Elite members get 60 minutes, and Pro members get 30 minutes of phone, or email support included with their memberships. You do not need to make an appointment and can ping me on Skype at any time. Elite members also receive my cell phone number for urgent calls. If you prefer to book a coaching session and use all your time at once, you can do that too. The choice is yours.
Basic members get 10 minutes of email support per month, unlimited access to the Vault, and a special discounted rate on phone consultations and website reviews. It’s only $200 an hour. My lowest rate in five years. For only $100 you can book 30 minute phone session with me on any topic.
To book a consultation, phone me at +1 (360) 450-5880, or email me dynamicmedia [[at]] me.com and we’ll set up a mutually beneficial time. I usually take calls between 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday to Friday.
If you need a Saturday session, special arrangements can be made. Here is my local time in the Pacific Time Zone.
Cancellations and Refunds
You may login to Paypal and cancel your subscription at any time. There are no refunds because you cannot un-see what you’ve seen, and un-hear what you’ve learned from your personal coaching sessions.
Keep in mind that the Vault is not a static ebook, or a magazine rack. It is a dynamic learning environment, with customized and personal 1 on 1 coaching, that’s designed to help you achieve success.
So before you cancel your subscription in haste, you may want to wait until one day before it expires. (Make a sticky note or mark it on your calendar.) That way, you’ll have 29 more days to decide, because once you hit that cancel button, your access is terminated immediately.
Rules of Conduct
Don’t hit. Play fair. Hold hands crossing the street. Everything else you learned in kindergarten. Just don’t post any question, or comment, that an 80 year old Grandma wouldn’t approve of.
Be aware that I can cancel your membership for conduct like hate mail, slanderous behavior, sharing content or passwords, excessive whining or complaining, spamming or promoting unethical practices. So be nice. Play fair. And all will be well.
Also be aware that I reserve the right to change rights and privileges of any membership level, to add and delete content, or to add and remove features or benefits at any time.
Comments
Only comments that add value will be displayed. Comments like “great post” or “I agree” or “I love this website” although nice, do not add any value and won’t be approved. Neither will comments that are abusive, off-topic or spammy in nature.
Rather than react to a post, think about what you want to say. Type up your questions or comments in a text editor and spell check before you paste them in.
Use your real name, not your keywords. Comments that put spam like “Buy Widgets Online” in the name field will be deleted.
There is spam filtering in effect. On occasion it may flag your legitimate comment as spam. Don’t worry as I check all comments that are held for moderation. If your comment doesn’t show up within 48 hours send me an email.

All content in the Vault – other than what you write – is Copyright 2010 Dynamic Media Corporation. All rights reserved world wide. No rebroadcast, retransmission, reposting, hosting, copying, or storage in any data retrieval system is permitted.
As a Vault member, you are part of an exclusive club. This content and the advice I give you, gives you a real world advantage over the competition and you agree not to share it with outsiders.
Disclosure
Some of the links in the Vault are my affiliate links. Yes, I practice what I preach. I demonstrate affiliate marketing in action when it makes sense to do so. You won’t find any pitches or hype. I will however use my affiliate link to products that I endorse and have tested personally.
How it Works
(Eventually, the Vault will be a central repository for all my works. I’ll slowly migrate over “the best of” my newsletters, whitepapers, podcasts, articles and FAQs that are currently spread all over the place. Not to mention my hard drive, which is bursting with thought particles. Any reprinted works will have a “*reprint” tag at the end of the post and include an asterisk * in the title.)
Even though I’ll be migrating old works into the Vault, that’s not the focus. The purpose of the Vault is personal service, 1 on 1 coaching. To help you get from where you are now, to where you want to be. To give you just-in-time answers to problems. To help you connect the dots and see the big picture.
