How to Triple Your Advertising Revenues Without Additional Traffic

I overlaid hundreds of heatmaps, clickmaps, web usability studies, eye tracking reports and ad placement suggestions from the bigger ad networks. I then created 30 templates based on this data, and tracked the amount of ad revenue generated, depending on ad position.
The result of this research, is a definitive set of nine templates. You can double or triple your ad revenues, without any additional traffic, clicks, or page views, just by moving the ads to the hot spots. A highly fascinating and profitable experiment to say the least.
Of course your results will vary from mine. The type of market you’re in, the types of ads you use, and the people who visit your sites, will all have an effect your results. So I advise against overhauling your website, without testing first.
Think of these templates as a “best practices” or guidelines for ad placement. If anything, be sure to experiment with some of the layouts, on a few of your pages, because they could double, or triple the ad revenues, that you’re making right now.
Don’t have any advertising on your site? That’s ok. The Ultimate Heatmap can be used draw attention to the most important areas of your site. It can have a dramatic effect on signups, donations, optins and conversions.
For graphic designers and advertising professionals, there’s plenty for you here too. You’ll discover important site layouts, standard ad sizes, and how to design more effective advertising.
Update: Ultimate Heatmap 2.0 is ready. It has updated templates, sample ads, fresh test data from another year’s worth of experiments. Plus it comes with Color Persuasion – How to Influence Purchasing Decisions with Color – as a bonus. It’s not free like version 1.0 of the report, but I’ve made it very affordable, considering the difference it can make in your ad revenues. If you want to see what’s new in Ultimate Heatmap 2.0 come visit us.
take care and God bless,
Michael
P. S.
I was going to sell version one of this report, but I decided that it’s far too valuable to keep it a secret. So I decided to gift it to the world, that all may benefit.
I’m not out to change the Universe. Just give our planet a tiny nudge towards economic recovery. That’s why I decided to release the original research to the public. It’s made a huge difference in my ad revenues, and I hope that it does the same for you.
All I ask is that you tell your friends. You can bookmark it on Delicious.com, or give it a Tweet on Twitter. Even if you only have 1 follower, every little bit helps.
Yes, you can stillĀ Download the Ultimate Heatmap Version 1.0 for free, but do keep in mind that it’s over a year old now. If you want the latest research and the site layouts that are working right now, come on over to the official Ultimate Heatmap website.

Wow! That is a real gift. Thank you for raising the bar of what a valuable “giveaway” is!
Hey ProSpirity… thanks for stopping by. Yes, it is a true gift. Please put it to good use. And may your personal economy never be lacking in abundance.
Hi Michael
Thank you so much for the heatmap guide, it is so valuable to have this information. About a year ago I decided to remove Adsense from most of my sites, because it was not paying enough anymore. Now that I have this information and I’m building new sites it’s given me new impetus to tackle Adsense again.
I have one question that I did not see covered in the ebook. That is about the width of the web pages you were using. Did you measure whether using the full width of the screen as opposed to say 3/4 width or half screen width had any affects of visitor clicks.
Nowadays a lot of sites are using 960px which I’m thinking (without any proof) may be too wide when you want to focus the viewers eyes on the ads. Your Guide really got me thinking about all the little things that can be tested and tweaked, to see what is most effective in getting those clicks
Thank you
Lee
Hi Lee,
Glad to hear you’re juiced up about the templates. Keep in mind that it’s not just AdSense. It works equally well for affiliate programs too.
Here’s my logic on the 728 width…
728 is the same width as the Leaderboard ad. If you make your site masthead 728 as well, it makes the Leaderboard integrate into your layout. In other words, the ad looks like its part of your site and attracts more eye fixation.
480 – 570 is ideal for mobile and text. You get short line lengths, minimize reader fatigue and maximize the readability. So what you get is a site that looks good on any device and content that’s easy to read.
So if we do the math…
728 for the Leaderboard ad. Minus a 180 column width (which gives you a choice between 180 wide Small Rectangle Ads or 160 Wide Skyscraper Ads) = 548 for text
So for the 728 width, I found the 545 width ideal for the main column. I included the 468 width ad components, as they are the Google standard width for Adsense. It helps to visualize how they’d fit into some of the templates.
(Personally I’d prefer to make my own 545 width ads and not use AdSense. But if the user choses to go with the 545, it has enough space to accommodate the 468 ad units, which seem to perform quite well when centered on the page.)
The 900 plus widths are needed if you decide to go with three column layouts.
If we do the math for two sidebars and text… (180 + 180) + 545 = 908 Then if you throw in some padding around the columns and you’re up to 950 in no time.
I hope this helps,
Michael
I appreciate all the time you took to provide this useful information. Well done!
Hi Michael,
I was referred to your generous gift to us by a fellow IM student. Thank you so much! I want to be able to have such a gift (knowledge) to give away as well down the road.
All the best,
Di
Hey Di… just keep at it and you will. Think like a farmer. You need to plant your seeds and be patient. It takes time for the crop to grow. If you make a commitment to nurture it to maturity, you’ll have an abundant harvest.
Thank you Michael,
You’ve always been a kind and generous person.
Thanks for the kind words Stewart. Mom always said it was a good thing to do.
Thank you for your kindness in sharing these templates.
Eric
You are so very welcome Eric. I truly hope they triple the ad revenues that you’re making right now.
Thank you for this enormous Xmas gift Michael.
AJ..
Hi Andy… I hope that it continues to bring you abundance, not just through Christmas, but next year and the years after that.
Michael – Thank you for your generosity. Your gift will come back to you many times over. In the meantime I have some reading to do.
Hey, glad to hear it Michael. At the very least be sure to test it out on a few pages. Some of the testimonials are coming back… and most people really do triple their ad revenues, sign ups, sales, or other conversions.
Thanks for the heatmap. This is helpful for everyone esp. those with blogsites that aim to earn extra income thru Google Ads or banners.
Wow! Thank you so much for sharing this heatmap so generously. You’re a real gent, sir, and your research is much appreciated – all the more so because you give it to us so freely.
I wish you a Happy and Prosperous New Year 2011, as you truly deserve.
Great ebook
Incredibly useful. Thank you so much for sharing so generously!
Lot more detail than I expected! Heatmaps are very good for understanding ad placement and where to target specific ads, not just AdSense. Putting link ads under the 1st paragraph is a real nice tip!
Wow is about all I can say. And Thank you Michael
Hi Michael,
Thanks for the awesome guide! When I first read this report, I implemented the strategies on a few sites. I did see some improvement, but just a little.
Months later, I tried using the ideas on a low performing site. I thought that the site was doomed since it was getting a CTR of less than 1% in the past…even with a bunch of traffic. I changed the template and ad placement a few times but still had low CTR’s.
I decided to give it another shot and tried to mimic your template example. I’m happy to say that I’m now getting 5-10 times more clicks! Thanks again!
Wow, kudos to you for sharing this, couldn’t help but tweet it too!
tq for this Michael
salute
Thank you! and Thank you!
You’re a dragon man!
You got your whole article in the heat by spitting fire and covering it with your awesome tests and conclusions!
Steve
Hello, I just want to say thanks, this is really awesome… I am new to internet marketing and just now getting into using adsense and this gift is extremely helpful and will allow me to avoid many roadblocks.
Thanks again,
Mike V.

Nice report.
And thanks for sharing it free.
Best regards from CHILE
Hi George, you are very welcome. Keep in mind that the original report is a year old now. All the new research and test results can be found in version 2.0 of the report. It’s not free like the original, but I made the price very affordable. You can buy the Ultimate Heatmap 2.0 here.
Hi and thanks for your research and tips on ad placement! I have often thought about changing my ad placement. I think that the less there is on a page near the ads (i.e. not too much in the navigation bar), the better. And yes, having the ads noticeable, but not IN YOUR FACE and rude is best
I am going to slowly change my ad placement and see what happens
Thanks again!
~Lisha
Hi, I am going to try the heapmap hoping this will make a difference. Looking forward to seeing it.
