Interview with PPC Ninja
Research > Training > PPC
Here’s an hour long interview with the PPC Ninja that I did along with Colin McDougall. You’ll find out how he bid on the president’s name, along with a CPA affiliate offer, and made a mountain of cash.
That’s just one gold nugget. The interview has tons of them.
I’ve never met anyone who thinks like the Ninja. Are you ready to discover a new way of thinking and be profitable a lot sooner because of it? Then download this MP3 interview and massage it into your ideas. You’ll never think about affiliate marketing with PPC the same way again.

Markets vs Keywords
FAQ: I’m going to get a webpage up if I ever figure out this darn keyword research thing. I don’t know what I’m missing here and why I find this so difficult.
I just can’t seem to come up with anything in Wordtracker that seems worth pursuing. Maybe I’m overlooking something. If I can just get past this sticking point I think the rest would be easy because it’s just implementation.
I’m not looking for the perfect market, just a market that I can compete in. Am I just being too picky? It’s frustrating to say the least.
Answer: Keyword research and market research are quite different from each other. It’s a common misconception to smush them together. Let’s take your questions one at a time. Plus, I’ll reveal the hidden message behind your question and tell you what you can do about it…

Is the Nofollow Tag Broken?
FAQ: A friend of mine hired an SEO company and in speaking with them, they said that the rel=nofollow tag is not working with Google anymore. Is that a true statement? They are adamant about that fact.
Now, the way I understood it, the nofollow was being used to keep the spiders from following a link and not sending any PageRank or Link Juice to that page. They are saying that Google will now follow those links and the only way to keep them from doing that is to use JavaScripts on those links.
Answer: Well… yes and no. That’s a long and convoluted question with even foggier answer. Each search engine processes the tag differently. Some take it literally and others ignore it. Here’s what I recommend that you do…

Blogging in a Competitive Market
FAQ: I have a blog about Apple related stuff. I am really passionate about it, but for some reason, I can’t seem to get the visitors to keep coming back. It’s kinda frustrating not being able to build up my readership.
Answer: Here are some ways you can find the hang outs and know what’s being discussed in your market… But more importantly, there’s a very common – teeny tiny – fundamental mistake on your blog that’s literally driving people away…

FAQ: I launched my paperback book which has got off to a good start on Amazon. I want to follow that up with a press release ASAP.
PR Web has many different options. Which ones should I use for maximum “bang for the buck”? Are there any tips or tricks I should know about for maximum response?
I would like to sell loads of books, but I also want to get people subscribing to my newsletter where they get seven free chapters. What sort of traffic can I expect from a press release?
Answer: Yes, doing a press release on PRWeb is a little intimidating with all the options. I’ve used the service for a couple of years now. Here are few tricks I’ve learned, to help you get maximum exposure and SEO benefits…

How to Force US Google Search Results
FAQ: I’m trying to do American market research. When I type a search query in Google the search defaults to my country and I get results from the Australian datacenter. How do I tell my browser or Google that I only want to get US based search results?
Answer: I asked my friend the PPC Ninja. He told me that there’s an easy way to append the search url to do Google market research by country, state, even cities…

Short Tail Keywords that Suck
FAQ: I don’t mean to bother you but have to ask. Why don’t you show up for the short-tail keyword phrase internet marketing? I couldn’t find you in the first 10 Google SERPs. Is it because short-tail keywords are too competitive and don’t convert?
Regardless, I would think you could wrest prominent placement even so. So who are all these people and companies that have high SERP placement for internet marketing? Are they viable, scammers and spammers or just lucky?
Answer: Yes, I got tired of playing the game. I used to hold down #1 spot for a lot of the usual phrases like, internet marketing, SEO and search engine positioning, etc. It was more of a pride thing than anything else.
It lead to thousands of useless phone calls and time wasted educating people on what marketing is, why they need it, what seo is, etc. Almost went bankrupt because of all the tire kickers.

Benefits of Adding a Blog
FAQ: If I have an existing site, am I better adding a blog within that domain as mydomain.com/blog or keeping the blog as a separate entity on its own domain. Also, if I use a new domain, am I better off adding the word blog to the domain name as in golfersblog.com.
Answer: If you have an existing site, adding a blog to it will benefit you in a couple of big ways…

Keeping Up with All the Fads
FAQ: How do you prevent getting overwhelmed and manage to keep up with all the new marketing ideas?
Answer: I don’t pay too much attention to all the fads and the so called “new” marketing ideas, because most of it isn’t new at all. I’m always experimenting, but I until the new strategy is proven to work, I stick to these fundamentals…

Auto Submitters for Bookmarking Sites
FAQ: What do you think of the auto submitters that create multiple accounts and post to the social bookmarking sites. Another question is, at what point does it become a problem for the social bookmarking sites?
Answer: Most “submitter tools” do not clearly distinguish social news sites from the bookmarking services. With some services you’re supposed to bookmark sites, not individual pages. Others are not bookmarking services at all, they are social news sites, or social hosting sites.
Here are a few examples of each:

The Natural Advantages of Women
Did you know that women have four times as many neurons as men that connect the left and right hemispheres of the brain. That means they are able to access related details and sense patterns much quicker than men.
Have you ever wondered why few women show up at marketing conferences? Here’s the main reason why…

How Can I Learn SEM (search engine marketing)
FAQ: I work as a Search Engine Optimizer and have proven myself in that field. I want to evolve into SEM. Is it easy or tough compared to SEO? Can you suggest some ways to learn SEM?
Answer: SEO is a subsidiary subset, yet very important element of SEM (search engine marketing). SEO in its pure form means adjusting your offpage and onpage factors, along with best practices, to achieve higher organic search engine rankings than the competition.
SEM adds other forms of search engine advertising like PPC, ad networks, directories and other forms of paid placement. Those can be learned easy enough. It’s much like placing classified ads in a newspaper, or display ads in the yellow pages, except the internet allows you to track and improve the ad on the fly.
The harder part to learn about SEM is the sales and marketing. Converting the traffic through the science of persuasion, so they take your desired course of action…
